Rooms

The rooms are largely designed to provide a clean, comfortable atmosphere. They are decorated with warm materials and welcoming colours.

Telephone

When you are admitted to the hospital you will be given a personal telephone card showing your direct phone number. You can also use it to make phone calls without cash at any time. You can be reached in your room on the number shown on the card.

Mobile phones

It is not permitted to use mobile phones in some areas of the hospital. This is for safety reasons, as mobile phone frequencies can disrupt sensitive medical equipment.

Internet

Claraspital provides you with fast internet access via WLAN at no charge. Our nursing staff will provide you with the login data so you can use your smartphone, tablet or notebook in your room.

Newspapers

Patients on private and semi-private wards receive the Basler Zeitung in the morning. On Sunday we bring private patients the NZZ am Sonntag. Daily newspapers and, in most cases, magazines are available in the day rooms. Other newspapers can be bought at the kiosk.

Radio

A radio is available in all rooms. If you are in a two-bed room, please be considerate to the person sharing your room and use the headphones. If there are no headphones in your room, please ask the nurses for some. You may also listen to your own radio, cassette player or CD player as long as you use headphones.

TV

There is a television in all rooms. If you are in a two-bed room, please be considerate to the person sharing your room and use the headphones. You may also use the televisions in the day rooms. If the television is not working properly, please tell the nursing staff.

Flower vases

Vases are available on the ward.
