Tin­ni­tus

Tin­ni­tus au­ri­um ("rin­ging in the ears") is a noi­se that is per­cei­ved in one or both ears wi­t­hout a sound hit­ting the ear. Tin­ni­tus can be per­ma­nent or in­ter­mit­tent; so­me­times ba­rely au­di­ble, at other times very loud and distres­sing.

Cau­ses

External influences:
Noise, bright light, heat, cold, coffee, alcohol, nicotine, medication, drugs, poor sleep hygiene, irregular sleeping hours.

Internal influences: Stress, anxiety, worry, anger, depression, pain, hormonal imbalances, cardiovascular problems, cancer, restless legs syndrome, sleep apnoea, narcolepsy.
It is not always possible to find the cause of a sleep disorder.
