Ba­sel-Sta­dt mam­mo­gra­phy scree­n­ing pro­gram­me

The mam­mo­gra­phy scree­n­ing pro­gram­me is of­fe­red free of char­ge by the can­ton of Ba­sel Sta­dt to all wo­men over the age of 50. With this scree­n­ing pro­gram­me, chan­ges in the bre­ast can be de­tec­ted at an ear­ly sta­ge. If you have received an invitation to the canton's screening programme, you can call us on +41 61 685 82 85 from Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm to register.

The Claraspital has a mammography machine of the latest generation, which works with particularly low radiation. This X-ray examination is carried out by one of our experienced X-ray assistants. The time required for a screening examination is short, the actual creation of the images takes about 15 minutes.

After the X-ray examination, you can go straight home again.
The images are then assessed by two accredited radiologists for any abnormal changes. The results of the assessment will be sent to you by post within eight days. Your treating doctor will also be informed so that you can discuss everything else with him/her should further clarification be necessary.
